Well, if you were eager to check out Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra this year, then we have some disappointing news to share. It looks like the developers need a little more time to get this game ready for the public. As a result, they made the difficult decision to push the game out of the 2025 calendar year. Instead, we can expect the game to launch sometime in 2026.
It’s never fun to hear a game you’re looking forward to playing has been pushed back. However, it’s better to have a solid gameplay experience than something that requires a series of updates to turn around reception. Today, on the official Skydance Games X account, we received the official word that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will launch sometime in early 2026. Unfortunately, there’s no specific release date attached to the game quite yet.
The reason for the delay was noted as giving developers more time to polish and make the best possible gameplay experience. Fortunately, we did get confirmation that more information would be shared soon. So, while we might not get the game this year, we might see it pop up soon through something like Summer Game Fest, but there’s no confirmation yet.
If you haven’t been following this game, it’s based on the Marvel Comics limited series Captain America / Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers. Set in WWII, the story follows Captain America and Black Panther as they attempt to stop Hydra. However, we’re not sure if we can expect any deviations from the comic book series quite yet.
What might also be worth noting is that Amy Hennig is heading the studio. If you’re unfamiliar with Amy by her name alone, this is a famed video game director who helped bring out franchises like Legacy of Kain, Jak and Daxter, and the Uncharted series.
