The Nintendo Switch 2 is around five weeks away from launch, and you can start to “feel its presence” more and more as the clock winds down to its arrival. For example, the Switch 2 Experience Tour is in full effect and has been attracting plenty of people since its start. We’ve also been seeing commercials, both in English and Japanese, start to spread across the internet. The point is that there’s plenty of news about Switch 2 out there, and it will not stop anytime soon. To help make the case even further for why you should get the new system, Nintendo has released a special magazine about it.
Currently, the magazine is only available in Japan physically, but it is available digitally right now for you to flip through. According to the website, the magazine has 80 pages of content focused on the Nintendo Switch 2, including diagrams that highlight the ins and outs of the console, as well as details about websites where you can find out even more about it. The best part about this magazine for Japanese gamers is that when it releases, it’ll be totally free. Clearly, Nintendo wants to “get the word out even more” and ensure that people are interested in it.
That in and of itself is ironic because the Switch 2 was hyped well before its announcement videos in January and April of this year. Furthermore, despite potential “issues” about the price, the console was flying off the shelves when its pre-orders started opening up all over the world. In fact, when the Japanese Nintendo Store started its pre-orders, over 2.2 million requests were made via the email service. The President of Nintendo himself had to apologize to gamers because he wasn’t sure that all their requests would be answered, as the company didn’t expect that big of a turnout.
In the United States, the race to get Switch 2 was so massive that multiple websites crashed at midnight due to the large number of gamers trying to get the console. Thus, you have to wonder how much this magazine is “really going to help add to the hype.” Then again, it couldn’t hurt, and any promotion is good promotion, right?
Regardless, the system is almost here, and many are hoping for even more meaningful news soon, including that of what games they’ll be playing after launch. We only have a few answers for that right now and many want more announcements.
