Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 might have caught some attention from players before it was released, but it had to contend with another behemoth of an RPG. Regardless, the game was released on time, and with it, the title continues to reach new milestones. It’s clear, this is one game to check in on if you haven’t done so already.
For a few years, rumors and leaks suggested that Microsoft was keen on remastering The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The game finally came to fruition last week, and just about everyone seemed to have been talking about it. A lot of hype built up around it at launch, which I’m sure might have caused some concerns with the newcomer development team, Sandfall Interactive.
This team was putting out their first game into the marketplace two days after we saw The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Fortunately, for this team, it looks like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered release didn’t overshadow their game. Instead, we’re discovering that the team just hit an impressive milestone of shipping a million units.
While it’s worth noting that this game launched on Xbox Game Pass on day one, the numbers don’t reflect any Xbox Game Pass players. Instead, these are units shipped to retailers, so again, it’s a rather impressive accomplishment, especially after the game had to deal with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, released just days prior.
That said, if you haven’t kept tabs on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, this is an RPG based around humanity dealing with some god-like creature called the Paintress, causing individuals to die yearly. With a decreasing age determined to perish, warriors set out to reach this Paintress and end the madness.
Currently, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available to pick up and play on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. We also have a Before You Buy video coverage of the game, which you can view below.
