Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl had quite the wild ride in game development. But now that it’s released, GSC Game World can focus on supporting the game. Players have been able to enjoy this FPS horror title since November of last year. However, if you wanted mods, it’s not been as easy as most would have liked. That should change in the future.
Some developers really open the floodgates when it comes to mods. We see some mod support go out of their way to provide the necessary tools to help creators add content to the game. That’s opened up the doors for some creators to make not only slight changes to the gameplay experience but full-on overhauls.
Fortunately, that should happen with Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, as developers recently commented on this to Videogamer. During their conversation with the publication, a GSC Game World spokesperson noted that they appreciate the community’s passion for the game and the contributions they have made so far.
Likewise, they noted that they want to see more mods come out in the future. They reflected back to Legends of the Zone Trilogy, which has mod support on consoles. It’s their goal to keep up with their promises and offer more accessible and intuitive mod support for Stalker 2. So, while they don’t have anything to reveal, they ask fans to stay tuned for updates.
We really want to see mods keep coming in the future. That’s why Legends of the Zone Trilogy supports mods through mod.io on consoles. We also promised more accessible and intuitive mod support for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 — and we’re going to keep that promise too. Stay tuned for updates. –GSC Game World
Hopefully, that wait isn’t too long, but even now, there are mods surfacing online for the game. For PC players, you have Nexus Mods to look through a slew of content available, which range from optimizations to adjustments to in-game content like reducing repair costs or even adding the ability to sprint for a longer duration.
Meanwhile, if you have yet even to experience the base game, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is available right now. Players can get the game on PC and Xbox Series X/S platforms. We also have a Before You Buy video coverage of the game, which can be viewed below.
