I don't want to derail things before the post even starts, but I need to get on the soapbox a little bit. Sons of Anarchy is perhaps the best show on television, maybe even my favorite show of all time and is more consistently good than almost any show I've ever watched, hands down. So, I guess you could say I'm kind of a fan. As a fan, I have thought long and hard about what could create an awesome game based on the franchise, even going as far as to plan out a little bit of a design doc in my head (not kidding).
Well it might be happening! Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy creator) offered these juicy tweets for our discussion:
"Soon to be taking meetings about an SOA game. Have a major gaming company interested. Trying to figure out costs, platform and timing."
"To do a quality platform-based game costs tens of millions and takes years. We're toying with the idea of a high-end browser-based game."
Ok, so it is looking like it might be a browser game. But these days, some browser games are as feature rich as many retail games, so I'm going to go ahead and file this under 'Cautiously optimistic' and try to avoid getting too hyped prematurely. If you know my personality, you'll know that this is nearly impossible. Expect increasingly excited news posts about the game as information becomes available.
