Marvel Rivals Gets New Season 1 Trailer Featuring Fantastic Four

January 6, 2025 by Todd Black

Hey, is that Jeff Goldblum? Oh, wait, it’s just Dracula…

If you somehow haven’t heard about Marvel Rivals at this point, you’re either living under a rock, completely disconnected from the internet or just don’t pay attention to the biggest trends in gaming. No matter the reason, the title from NetEase has blown up since its release, and it shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Since its release, it’s added new characters, refined certain elements, and remained a truly good free-to-play experience. However, that doesn’t mean that there won’t be additional content via “Seasons,” though, as that’s just the nature of these things. Sure enough, the team has dropped the first trailer for the upcoming starter scene, and it’s going to suck. Oh, in a good way!

For as previously leaked, the Fantastic Four are coming to the game. However, what wasn’t made clear until now is WHY they’re in the game next. The first season is called “Eternal Night Falls,” which will bring the Marvel version of Dracula into the mix to try and blanket New York City in darkness. We see Doctor Strange getting beaten by the “Dark Lord” before the various members of the Fantastic Four join the fight.

You can check out the full trailer for the event below:

And here is the full description for the new season:

“Darkness engulfs New York as the Timestream Entanglement leaves Doctor Strange trapped in the Entangled Astral Plane, scattering the Darkhold pages. Dracula and Doctor Doom disrupt the moon’s orbit, plunging the city into eternal night and unleashing an army of vampiric creatures. With the world on the brink, the Fantastic Four join forces with iconic Marvel heroes, standing together in the epic battle to break the mystical darkness with science. Ignite the battle against Dracula with the Fantastic Four in Marvel Rivals!”

So, yeah, that’s a backstory. If this is what we can expect from the game going forward, fans will be having a good time for quite a while.

Naturally, outside of the event content, fans will be curious about how each member of the Fantastic Four will play, as each are emphatically different from one another in style, personality and powers. Undoubtedly, people will find their favorites and use them in conjunction with others that others like, while some will try and “unite the family” in certain battles.

Again, with the story elements in play here and the multiverse set as the backdrop, fans can expect more unique seasons like this, with all manner of characters showing up as a result.
