Dead by Daylight Mobile Will Be Shutting Down Next Year

December 18, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

A special package is being provided for mobile players moving to a console or PC version of the game.

Dead by Daylight has been a hit for developers Behaviour Interactive. However, it seems the game isn’t attracting enough attention from fans on the mobile platform. We’re learning that the game will soon see its servers shut down next year. However, there is an incentive to continue playing or pick the game up to enjoy this last little bit, even if you mainly play on PC or consoles.

Taking to the Dead by Daylight mobile website, it was confirmed that the game’s servers will officially shut down on March 20, 2025. The official reason for this decision was ongoing shifts in NetEase Games’ development and operational strategies. So you’ll soon find yourself unable to explore The Entity’s Realm. But you have until March 20, 2025, to get your last few games in with friends or other players.

Of course, you’ll want to download the game and keep it installed on your mobile device. We are also told that on January 16, 2025, the game will be removed from both the App Store and Google Play Store. So, if you were hopeful to download the game later on to get a few more rounds in, you’re not going to be able to after that date. That also includes those who downloaded the game on your mobile device previously.

But a special welcome package is being made to keep players engaged and bring them over to the other versions of the game. This will give you some Auric Cells and Iridescent Shards. But how much will ultimately depend on the amount of money you spent in the game and the XP earned. You’ll also find that the Welcome Package will be provided to players already playing Dead by Daylight on consoles or PC. So, this is not exclusively for players who strictly play the game on mobile devices.

You’ll receive prompts within the app to sign in with your Behaviour Interactive account to receive the Welcome Package. But again, if you’re enjoying the game’s mobile version, you still have a little time left before you’ll be forced off the game.
