Back 4 Blood 2 Could Be In Development

November 18, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

New evidence uncovered.

Turtle Rock Studios’ last release was a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead. If you recall, in 2021, the studio released Back 4 Blood, and it looks like the studio might not be done with this franchise quite yet. While we knew in 2023 that the studio was done supporting Back 4 Blood, we were left out on just what the studio was working on next.

The studio has still yet to reveal what’s next. Instead, they are keeping things under wraps for a while longer as they continue working on their next thrilling project. But it looks like new evidence has been found to suggest what could be coming. If the speculation online is correct, what we might see Turtle Rock Studios bring out next is a successor to Back 4 Blood.

Thanks to a report from MP1ST, we’re finding out that the publication uncovered a project name for Turtle Rock Studios. This stems back to a motion capture actor’s resume that noted they are working on a project dubbed Gobi 2 for Turtle Rock Studios. That’s notable because, with Back 4 Blood, the game project was initially dubbed Gobi. So, quite a few fans are expecting that we’re going to see another zombie FPS from this team.

Now, that’s just speculation based on the project name, but according to MP1ST, it looks like there’s even a domain registered for Back 4 Blood 2. Turtle Rock Studios could be covering themselves in case they opt to make a sequel, but it’s as likely that this is what we can expect from the studio next.

Of course, just what this installment will bring to the table is a mystery, as is when we’ll actually see this game announced to the public. At any rate, Back 4 Blood is still available to pick up and enjoy on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms if you have yet to try this one out.
