In May, MultiVersus returned to online storefronts after a year offline for fine-tuning. The title continues to add popular characters from pop culture past and present, and now, the devs at Player First Games have announced that the Powerpuff Girls and DC’s Nubia will be added to the game as playable characters in Season 3.
The Powerpuff Girls will be added as playable characters on September 17, followed soon after by Nubia from the Wonder Woman universe.

The trio will be able to team up in battle to “punch, kick, and bash opponents together as one cohesive wrecking machine, along with each taking turns as the leader to put their own spin on special moves,” the new overview reads (via Gematsu).
Two new stages will also be added in Season 3. These include a destroyed version of the current Townsville stage and a new stage inspired by Gremlins called Midnight Showing.
While the game’s second season was an absolute technical disaster, the team behind the wacky title is hoping that things will be different going forward.
“We want to deliver a great online experience, and to do that we had to rebuild everything from the ground up for our new netcode,” said the dev team in May. “Now we have absolute world-class netcode, so you can play with your friends seamlessly across the country and it feels like you’re offline.’
MultiVersus is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Two new modes were added to the game this summer: Spectator and Free-For-All.
