Fallout London Devs Promise To Fix Launch Bugs, And Share An Installation Guide

July 30, 2024 by Ryan Parreno

It’s that much easier to get Fallout London running on GOG.

Team FOLON has shared their first big update after the launch of their big mod, Fallout: London.

On Twitter, they shared this message:

“Hello, a message from us at Team FOLON.

Firstly, a massive thank you from everyone at Team FOLON. We are very grateful for the amazing attention Fallout: Lodnon is receiving and we appreciate all the great feedback from you! It is truly heartwarming to see the community coming together to praise the release and help one another with it.

We’re working hard to fix the reported technical issues and expect to release an update soon. Thank you for your patience!

To avoid any installation issues we encourage you to check the guide we have linked below, so while we are working on improving the installation experience please make sure that you follow all these points to ensure the process is as hassle-free as it gets.

For now, stay safe and mind the gap.”

They also linked to a few small installation guides, which you can read here. We won’t copy those guides here, but you will definitely want to read these key points.

Team FOLON had brought this up before, but their guide only covers Fallout 4 on Steam and GOG. It isn’t possible to play Fallout: Londonwith the Epic Games Store version of Fallout 4, because Epic’s platform doesn’t allow players to roll back to earlier versions of games. But as it turned out, we didn’t really know what that entailed until this guide.

Whether you’re on Steam or GOG, you have to uninstall your copy of Fallout 4, and any of the data that could come from your prior save. They provide detailed instructions on where to find all that data as well.

As you can imagine, it’ll be easier to set this all up on the GOG version. You need to install Fallout 4, and then Team FOLON wants you to launch the game at least once. This will generate new files, including in the Windows registry, and you can go back to the main menu and quit when it’s done. Afterwards, you can just add Fallout: London to your library and install it in the same folder you have Fallout 4.

If you’re on Steam, you will need to install Fallout 4 with a specific set of DLCs, use Team FOLON’s downgrader, and also install and use GOG Galaxy. We assume this isn’t out of malice, but simply because Team FOLON really did have GOG manage everything for them. If you don’t mind double dipping, you may be better off doing so on GOG for peace of mind. But of course, that’s up to you.

Congrats go out to Team FOLON for their launch, and hopefully we all don’t have to wait that long for Fallout London to be playable in the latest version of Fallout 4, and possibly even on consoles.
