Some new rumors have emerged on what we can expect for Grand Theft Auto 6.
These details come from LegacyKillaHD, and were shared on Twitter by that1detectiv3.
First off, we would like to point out that Rockstar employees are generally happy that Dan Houser and the rest of the older Rockstar crew left. Of course, we have heard of the allegations of a toxic workplace in Rockstar. While Rockstar staff now were not happy about the mandate to return to the office to finish this title, apparently, it’s still a better work environment with Houser and others gone.
Rockstar built on a lot of what they did in Red Dead Redemption 2 for Grand Theft Auto 6. For example, players will only be able to carry a limited number of weapons at a time. Six years after Red Dead Redemption 2’s release, Rockstar will certainly have received enough feedback and made enough of their own observations to figure out what works and what they want to do with their games moving forward.
But, Grand Theft Auto 6 will be shorter, which may be because Rockstar plans to once again make an extensive Grand Theft Auto Online mode to go with it. Regardless of that, the company has not rushed to get the game out as they see the need to get this perfect.
There will be a very interactive open world, so perhaps Rockstar put a lot of work on the potential side stories, or even the systems that create potential for emergent gameplay. The players can pick up sports like basketball and gridiron football, and those will actually be fully formed game modes.
LegacyKillaHD claims he knows for sure that Lucia will be played by Manni Perez, and her partner Jason will be played by Dylan Rourke. The voice actors themselves aren’t quite ready to confirm this yet, but they already know the fans are eager to get that confirmation.
Lastly, there are some claims that Rockstar changed content as a result of the leaks. For example, some side characters were changed, with new voice actors, and writing for different personalities, in particular in response to the 2022 leak.
Subsequently, the opening sequence in story mode was reshot. It’s unclear if that may be because Rockstar doesn’t want to have to deal with people who they had ‘parodied’ or made tributes to in the opening.
All of this should be taken with a grain of salt, of course, but it’s interesting that we’re getting some more rumors coming out now. LegacyKillaHD says Grand Theft Auto 6 will release in 2025, likely in the fall. We’ll see if the popular investor sentiment that it’s release, paired with the PlayStation 5 Pro, will lead to a resurgence in the video game business. That’s one prediction we hope is right on the money.
