Cal Kestis Actor Could Bring The Character To Live-Action

February 19, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

Here’s what Cameron Monaghan revealed.

If you’re a fan of the Star Wars Jedi franchise, then you might have been keen on seeing some of these characters pop up in a live-action series or movie. After all, Star Wars has had a strong lineup of live-action shows since the recent trilogy wrapped. Fortunately, the main protagonist in the series, Cal Kestis, could appear in a live-action series with the same actor who portrays him in the video games.

We so far have two mainline games that feature Cal Kestis and his epic storyline. With Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launched last year, it’s been a waiting game for this character to show back up. We know a third installment is planned, but there hasn’t been anything unveiled quite yet from Respawn Entertainment. Instead, the developers are keeping a tight lid on things. But we do have the actor who portrays Cal, Cameron Monaghan, who attends various events where fans can meet and ask questions.

This past weekend, it was reported by VGC that Cameron was present during the FanExpo Vancouver 2024 event. During this, he was asked on a panel if he would like to portray Cal in a live-action series or movie. According to Cameron, he would only be interested if it made sense with the character and the actual role in the project.

Apparently, Cameron wouldn’t be interested in showing up randomly and not having much of a role in whatever the situation might be in the film. So, it would need to continue the storyline in some way for the character. So it seems like a safe bet to assume Cameron would be appearing in a live-action spin-off from the video games if Cal has a significant storyline to help evolve the character. But right now, there hasn’t been anything unveiled just yet on if this scenario will play out.

Again, we’re left waiting for the next chapter installment to get unveiled for the Star Wars Jedi franchise. That will hopefully come sooner rather than later. But at the same time, we know that Respawn Entertainment has a few Star Wars projects in the lineup. In the meantime, if you haven’t continued on the storyline for Cal, the latest game installment, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, was released last year for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms. We have a Before You Buy on the game below if you’re looking for more insight into the game.
