Diablo IV Gauntlet Has Been Delayed

February 7, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

Looks like we might not see Gauntlet this season.

Diablo IV players are still getting content to go through now that we’re in 2024. Blizzard’s developers have continued supporting the game with seasonal content since its release. However, you’ll be surprised to learn that one of the promised features that was supposed to come with the third season of Diablo IV is actually getting pushed back. Those of you who were eager to dive into the competitive experience with Gauntlet will find that it might not even make it on during the third season as the developers need more time to polish this feature.

Thanks to Gamerant, we’re finding out that Rod Fergusson, the general manager of Diablo, has taken to their X social media account to relay information about Gauntlet. It was noted online that Gauntlet and the leaderboard will take more time than expected. So, while the rest of season three is still on track, you won’t find Gauntlet available on February 13, 2024. Instead, the developers are working through this feature and will update players on when they can expect the new feature within the game. That means we’re left waiting on a potential new launch window, which could mean actually finding Gauntlet getting pushed into season four, depending on the amount of time developers require to get it ready for players.

Great seeing the excitement about the Gauntlet & Leaderboards. We're still on track for S3 but decided to take a bit more time to polish a few things up, so it won't be launching on Feb 13 as I mentioned on a recent podcast. We'll share more details and the new date soon.

If you haven’t been keeping tabs on Diablo IV, the Gauntlet feature was something being added in that would likely appeal to competitive players. Essentially, players would get a dungeon to go through, and each week, it would offer a layout and monsters to face against. Players could compete to clear the dungeon and gather loot, potentially earning their name on a leaderboard. But while fans were excited to see this feature added to the game, it’s not in a state that is deemed playable for the public.

With that said, the rest of season three is on track, as mentioned by Rod. So you’ll still have new content to enjoy. Meanwhile, if you haven’t picked up this dungeon crawler, Diablo IV is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
