Blizzard Invites 100,000 New Participants Into Diablo 3 Beta

February 3, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

Blizzard has invited a hundred thousand new gamers to experience Diablo 3.

Blizzard has just announced via its Diablo 3 blog that it has invited 100,000 new participants to experience the beta. Participants were chosen from those who selected to opt-in through their Battle.net accounts.

Blizzard warns that sending out such a large invite may spur phishing attempts from unscrupulous individuals attempting to steal accounts, so they ask gamers to be wary should they receive an invite. According to Blizzard, an easy way to check to see if the invite is legitimate is to simply log into the Battle.net account and see if you have a Diablo 3 beta license attached.

For those who didn't receive an invite, the company says it intends to give away more beta invites in the weeks and months to come. They will also extend the giveaways to fansites in the coming weeks.
