Sea of Thieves Will Soon Get Private Sessions

September 26, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Sail the seas without the fear of other pirates.

Sea of Thieves has been a popular game since it was released. For years now, the gameplay experience encouraged players to gather online and take to the seas, with the gameplay focused on being a pirate and going through grand adventures. When you were not completing quests, seeking loot, and making adjustments to your character or ship, you might have to face another pirate crew.

Pirates are cutthroat, so the loot of another ship is enticing to seek out. Again, the game is encouraged to be played with friends, so you might very well have a group ready to man the cannons and prepare to battle off opponents. However, if you try to play this game solo, then it can be tough. As a result, fans of the gameplay experience have expressed their interest in seeing the game receive a means to play solo without having to deal with other players. Fortunately, after the game launched back in 2018, the game is finally going to see an option for private session. Thanks to a report from Insider Gaming, we’re learning that players can expect a new game mode this October.

Sea of Thieves is getting ready to receive season ten, and with it comes a brand new way to play. The developers are calling this new mode Safer Seas, and it’s introducing private session so that you, along with your friends, can set sail in the sea without other players. It might be calmer waters to sail through, but that will come at a slight cost in terms of what you can expect in rewards. Being in Safer Seas means that Trading Companies will offer less gold, reputation, and a cap to rank 40.

So again, it’s a give-and-take with Safer Seas. You might not get as many goods as you were hopeful of or reaching a higher rank. But that at least means you don’t have the fear of dealing with a random PvP battle. Furthermore, this could be a means to practice the game a little more before you venture into the main game, where you’ll face opponents. With that said, we do have a slight wait ahead of us. Season 10 will be arriving on October 19, 2023, for the Xbox platforms. Meanwhile, those on PC will see the launch happen towards the end of this year in December.
