Starfield Leaked Gameplay Shows “A World That Beckons Exploration”

August 22, 2023 by Ryan Parreno

It’s almost like waiting for this game to release was worth it.

A new leak of Starfield footage have given fans an early peek of what the game will be like when we finally get to play it two weeks from now.

As reported by Tech4Gamers, a YouTube video shared 40 minutes of leaked gameplay footage, from the Constellation Edition. This is not the version of the game that was sent out to reviewers and content creators. In fact, the footage indicates that the game is being played on an Xbox Series X.

For obvious reasons, we can’t show any of that footage ourselves, and it doesn’t matter since it has already been taken down anyway. For the sake of those curious, we will discuss below what was observed in that gameplay footage, and what it could mean for the final release.

The leaked footage shows both cutscenes and NPC interactions. Tech4Gamers noted the particularly detailed character designs, though it isn’t mentioned if it looks similar or better to preview footage we have seen thus far.

Inventory menu was also a highlight of the leak, being both pleasing to the eyes and very utilitarian.

Tech4Gamers also mentions the game’s high quality animations, that (as should be expected) go one step better than what Bethesda Game Studios had been able to accomplish in their prior games.

We will end this with Tech4Gamers’ final impressions, as its best you read this itself:

“Based on what is shown, the game’s visuals are truly breathtaking, immersing players in a vibrant universe full of opportunities. The leaked video reveals a world that beckons exploration, promising an experience that appeals to everyone’s adventurous side.”

That certainly sounds very promising indeed! While expectations are sky high for Starfield to deliver as the must have game to now sell the Xbox Series X|S, it looks like Bethesda have pulled off meeting those expectations. This is by no means justifying the poor state of Fallout 76, but these impressions do suggest that Bethesda didn’t suddenly become a bad developer with the release of that game. It was simply that the studio opted to push most of their resources to make this next major title from them one of those once in a console generation masterpieces.

And for what it’s worth, Bethesda could have done better management to get this game to be this good and also still deliver something satisfying on Fallout 76. But at this point, that’s neither here nor there.

Starfield will be releasing on September 6, 2023, on Xbox Series X|S, and on Windows via Steam. It will also be Day One on Game Pass.
