Baldur’s Gate 3 For PlayStation 5 Not In Any Danger According To Dev

August 21, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Fans might have been concerned over its preload date.

There is quite a bit of anticipation and excitement for September. We have two significant releases happening on the same day, and it will hopefully provide a thrilling RPG experience for both Xbox and PlayStation fans. As you might already know, September 6, 2023, is bringing out both Starfield on Xbox Series X/S and PC, while Sony PlayStation 5 fans are getting a copy of Baldur’s Gate 3. However, there was some concern online recently that Baldur’s Gate 3 might be in a bit of trouble.

Thanks to a report from DualShockers, we’re finding out that some fans pointed out that Baldur’s Gate 3 is not available to preload. Currently, players on Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms can preload Starfield. So it was suspected that there might be some trouble going on at Larian Studios. Right now, the game is only available to preload starting on August 31, 2023. So that might have some players worried Baldur’s Gate 3 is not in the shape developers expect when it launches into the marketplace next month when compared to Starfield.

We want people to have the latest patches, because that seems like the consumer friendly thing to do. It’s not very complicated.

We’re getting awfully close to the launch date, so any concern about the game not being in its expected shape might scare some fans. However, one developer from Larian Studios was quick to ease tension and nerves online. Michael Douse is the head of publishing for Larian Studios, and he took to Twitter to alert followers that Baldur’s Gate 3 is not in trouble right now. Instead, the team focuses on ensuring players have the latest patches available because that seems like the consumer-friendly thing to do.

So those that might have been concerned that Baldur’s Gate 3 is experiencing some issues for the PlayStation 5 platform should rest easy. The game is still expected to launch into the marketplace on September 6, 2023, which will rival the upcoming Bethesda Starfield video game. Of course, we already know that Baldur’s Gate 3 is a huge hit. This title launched already for the PC platform, so those on PC have been enjoying the game for a few weeks now. We also have a Before You Buy coverage for the title. With that said, you’ll want to make note that this is for the PC version of the game and might not represent the experience you will have for the PlayStation 5.
