Rumor: Master Chief Skin Seen In Rainbow Siege Six

August 15, 2023 by Ryan Parreno

While it wasn’t expected, Rainbow Six Siege is popular enough that it really could happen.

We now have a strange rumor coming up for Rainbow Six Siege.

Klobrille has tweeted out that Halo’s Master Chief will be coming to Rainbow Six Siege. In fact, Klobrille also shared a small clip showing Master Chief in the game’s character select/options menu.

The clip also shows animation of Master Chief doing a simple turnaround, as well as an animation of the Chief jumping around and using the weapons found in Ubisoft’s team shooter. You can watch the clip below.

It goes without saying, but this rumor comes completely out of nowhere. Both Halo Infinite and Rainbow Six Siege do have loyal followings, but both are also a couple of years old. Ubisoft has itself already made a sequel to Rainbow Six Siege in Rainbow Six Extraction.

With all that said, this rumor isn’t too strange to be real. It is true that Rainbow Six Siege turned out to be a particularly popular team shooter, having stayed popular through the past eight years, including during the pandemic. Even though Ubisoft has not dropped its full retail price, it has enjoyed free play weekends and play periods, as well as the occasional sale, including coming up in a Humble Bundle.

Most gamers will cite Rainbow Six Siege’s tactical nature as the main reason for its popularity. Both teams get a preparatory phase where they can set traps or release drones around their side of the map prior to a proper shootout.

However, Ubisoft also deserves credit for doing the work that we would take for granted. That includes fostering a healthy esports scene that has attracted the top teams like FaZe Clan and Team Liquid, constantly keeping the game updated and rebalanced, and enabling cross platform play. That last move allowed Ubisoft to build one united scene for Rainbow Six Siege, in contrast to the split scenes that other games like Call of Duty has.

Now, Rainbow Six Siege players probably already know that Master Chief is being added to the game as a skin. The huge sledgehammer is a huge tell for them.Master Chief is an Elite Skin for Rainbow Six Siege’s Seamus Cowden, AKA Sledge. Sledge is a real heavy, strong enough to use that sledgehammer to breach walls for himself and his teammates.

We may found in a few hours or a few days if this rumor turns out to be true. But even if it is, it seems highly unlikely the skin can be obtained by players who are not on Xbox, or at least Windows.
