Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Will Soon Work With Pokemon Home

May 30, 2023 by Ryan Parreno

Pokemon fans may have stuck to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet with all the performance issues, knowing this day would finally come.

Pokemon Home has now opened up to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

While Pokemon Scarlet and Violet released in a poor state when it comes to performance, it sold in the same scale as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

It’s an absolutely strange parallel to have, when you consider how far apart Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are when it comes to performance on the Nintendo Switch.

However, the Pokemon faithful did not waver, and in turn Game Freak and Pokemon Company have continued to publish events and Tera raids. As of this writing, Pokemon Company have still not been able to push an update to fix all the performance issues on Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It’s a disservice to the game’s userbase, but perhaps those players kept on playing knowing something like this was waiting for them.

Now, as reported on Video Games Chronicle, Pokemon Home will be updated to version 3.0.0. After this update, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will have the ability to send their Pokemon over to Pokemon Home, for safekeeping until the next Pokemon game.

The official Pokemon account then announced the downtime period needed for Pokemon Home’s next update. From May 29, 2023, at 5 PM PT, to May 30, 2023, at 11 PM PT, Pokemon Home will not be available to use.

While neither Pokemon Company or Nintendo have made any announcements, it is possible that this will be the last new Pokemon game for Nintendo Switch. Subsequently, this could be the last Pokemon game on the Nintendo Switch that will be enabled to work with Pokemon Home.

The patch notes for this update also indicate that players will be able to view a Pokemon’s stats from the different games it’s been in. There will also apparently be new challenges and stickers that will be added.

Those could all combine to extend the interest in Pokemon games on Nintendo Switch, at least until Nintendo’s next console, and the first Pokemon games for that next console, are officially announced and revealed.

To add to this, we also know that there are still more new Pokemon coming to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. In particular, in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, players could get some of the older Pokemon that are not found in the Paldea region. The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero will be a two part expansion to boot, so Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can expect to be busy for the next few months.
