Fallout 4’s Automatron DLC Invites Players To Build Robots

March 22, 2016 by Ian Miles Cheong

Build your own robots in the wasteland with the first Fallout 4 DLC.

As you may have already guessed, the Automatron DLC for Fallout 4 is out today. We’ve prepared a guide on how to start experiencing the new content if you’ve already picked it up. If you’ve yet to do so, you can grab it as part of the game’s DLC Season Pass or individually for $9.99 on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

In Automatron, a mysterious figure known as the Mechanist has appeared in the Commonwealth, unleashing a horde of robots hostile to human life. You can learn about one of Automatron’s robot companions here. As the Sole Survivor, players must hunt down and harvest their parts to build and modify their own custom robot companions. You can choose from hundreds of different mods, mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons including an all new lightning chain gun. You’ll even be able to customize their personality and paint schemes for that added flair.

The content in the mod is available to any player character above level 15.

Automatron is the first official add-on for Fallout 4. This April, Bethesda is releasing the Wasteland Workshop expansion, which expands the capabilities of settlements. And in May, players can travel beyond the Commonwealth to Maine in the Far Harbor expansion, which Bethesda is calling the largest ever landmass created for post-release content.

More add-ons will be released later in 2016 as part of the game’s DLC Season Pass. Like this one, you’ll be able to grab them individually. This is all in addition to the upcoming Survival Mode and Creation Kit, both of which will be released for free to all owners of the game. Players will be able to create their own mods and share them with others, including those on the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
