Tekken 8 Gameplay Trailer Offers A Look At Paul Phoenix

March 10, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Another chance to prove Paul’s the best fighter.

Tekken fans can rejoice as a new installment is inbound. After the 2015 release of Tekken 7, fans are getting another new go with the franchise with Tekken 8 next year. We know this game is slated for 2024, and while we still have a ways to go before we get our hands on the installment, marketing materials continue to flood the web. Today, a new video trailer highlight offers a look at the best in the universe, or at least in his eyes, Paul Phoenix.

If you’re a fan of the franchise, then you’re already well familiar with this character. Paul Phoenix is one of the characters that continue to show up in the mainline installments. Likewise, this character got his initial debut in the series with the original 1994 launch of Tekken 8. This character is always seeking to show off his skills and prove that he’s the best fighter out there. While he has yet to win the famous King of Iron Fist tournament, perhaps things will finally change for Paul.

In this game trailer, we’re offered a brief look at Paul Phoenix’s fighting capabilities, and he’s clearly still in fighting shape. Using his power to blast through his competitor, we’re eager to see how he handles when Tekken 8 does launch into the marketplace. Just like with past installments, we know that the developers have tweaked the fighting mechanics a bit, and this particular installment is rewarding players for being more aggressive. So expect a more fast-paced and brutal gameplay experience. Additionally, we know that the character models will be new, so some of your favorite characters might have an improved appearance.

Of course, we’re still waiting on more characters to be unveiled. There are, of course, some staple characters returning to the game, including Jin Kazama, Jun Kazama, and Nina Williams. However, we should see some new faces popping up in the game, including the likes of Jack-8, who is an android that had previous models popping into the series.

Currently, we know Tekken 8 is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms when it does release into the marketplace. In the meantime, you can check out the Paul Phoenix gameplay footage showcased earlier today in the video we have embedded above.
