Starfield Showcase Event Might Have Been Revealed [UPDATED]

February 27, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Mark your calendars.

UPDATE:

It seems that this date is not for Starfield as the Twitter account followed up saying this is for a Gala event.

We are happy to be part of the annual #ELLE gala, together with @xboxse this spring. It's called fashion, look it up! 🥰

It looks like we’ll have to keep waiting on the official Starfield event date.

Original Story…

There is a ton of hype built up on Bethesda’s next big RPG release. Starfield is a brand new IP, and fans looking to dive into the game are likely also waiting on new showcases to be unveiled. Earlier this year, Microsoft revealed its first big livestream event called the Developer Direct. It was a showcase that offered some insight into a few new upcoming games coming to the Xbox platform. That event only showcased a small handful of games, and we knew beforehand that the upcoming Bethesda RPG title, Starfield, wouldn’t be a part of this event. But at the same time, Microsoft did alert fans that they were working on a showcase that would only focus on the upcoming game.

Since then, it’s been a waiting game for fans. There’s been no indication as to when this showcase event will be taking place. Fans who are waiting to play this game might have assumed that the showcase would happen rather shortly after the Developer Direct highlight this year, but now we’re moving into March with still no signs of when this event will be taking place. That is unless you take up to a cryptic message sent out from the Bethesda Nordic Twitter account. Apparently, it looks like Bethesda has something in the works for April.

Hey @xboxse , are you hyped for our date on the 21st of April? We promise it will be good! 😎

— Bethesda Nordic (@Bethesda_Nordic) February 27, 2023

The official date that was mentioned is April 21st, which also tagged Xbox’s Swedish account asking if they are ready for their date. That has plenty of fans assuming that this might be the date for the previously mentioned Starfield showcase. Of course, that’s purely speculative right now, as the tweet doesn’t mention Starfield. Likewise, there’s been no official word since that tweet went out indicating that we’re getting a Starfield showcase from other official social media platforms. Furthermore, fans have pointed out that this date is close to the launch date for Redfall.

Redfall is coming from Arkane, which will launch on May 2, 2023. Perhaps this could be an event highlighting more Redfall content to get players excited for its incoming release. At any rate, we’ll have to continue monitoring Bethesda and Microsoft’s social media accounts to see if they reveal more of what we could be seen on April 21, 2023. Meanwhile, Starfield is still slated to launch in the first half of this year for the Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms.
