King’s Quest Chapter 3: Once Upon A Climb Launches This April

March 14, 2016 by Holly Green

The latest installment of this series reboot retells an old tale.

Kings Quest
The latest chapter in the reboot of the classic romantic comedy adventure series King’s Quest is on its way, and it’s coming at the end of April.

This third installment in the new King’s Quest is entitled Once Upon A Climb, and will bring back a beloved character in the series, the Queen Valanice. It further explores the fairy tale behind her rescue from Hagatha’s Tower by her future husband King Graham, the narrator of King’s Quest who throughout its five chapters is retelling the tales of old to his curious young granddaughter Gwendolyn. Some new screenshots of this enchanting new chapter are in our gallery below.

King’s Quest Chapter 3: Once Upon A Climb will officially debut on April 26, 2016, on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Bundled versions of the game are available for those who wish to purchase the future chapters in advance, The Complete Collection and the Season Pass. King’s Quest: The Complete Collection includes all five chapters and a bonus playable epilogue, while the King’s Quest Season Pass contains Chapters 2-5. Both are up now for purchase on Steam, PSN, and the Xbox Games Store, with the first two chapters also available for individual purchase as well.

We reviewed the first chapter of King’s Quest back in August, and felt that the game was delightful, but a bit buggy. Of the game, our writer Ginny Higerd said:

“I found King’s Quest to be an extremely delightful game. The cliffhanger for Chapter One has me in tears, and I’m on pins and needles waiting for Chapter Two to come out…I would have rather waited longer for a complete game with little to no bugs to come out than wait months on one episode at a time that constantly freezes on me.”
