Street Fighter 6 Gets WWE Superstar As Commentator

Have you ever been told that your “nerd side” will never get fully satisfied because you’ll never be part of the franchises you love? To an extent, that can be true due to how some franchises “pass on” before you can be a part of them. However, that doesn’t mean you give up. That just means you keep showing your fan love and hope for the best. A great example of this can be seen via WWE superstar Zelina Vega. Vega is part of their women’s division and has been known to modify her in-ring attire to resemble famous video game characters. A trend that has now gotten her a role in Street Fighter 6.

This was announced at WWE’s Royal Rumble, where Vega, pictured above, came out to the ring as franchise character Juri. She even made a bunch of moves that Juri does in the games, as you can see below:

During her introduction, WWE revealed that Vega would be a part of the color commentating team in Street Fighter 6. The goal of the commentating team is to make it feel like you’re watching an actual match with people reacting in real time.

Her experience in WWE was no doubt a boon to her as she’s heard how commentators discuss things during her match and projected that onto the matches she was likely watching when she did the lines.

For Vega, this must be a dream come true. She’s never been shy about her love of video games, especially fighting games, as she’s repped many franchises over the years. But this is the cherry on top, as she gets to be part of a highly-anticipated title.

Capcom is doing many things to ensure fans that their 6th main entry will be different and more robust than their last entry. We’ve already seen the expanded roster in action via the “Developer Matches” posted last week. Furthermore, the control schemes have been a focus as the team wants as many players as possible, no matter your experience level, to enjoy the title.

Furthermore, the online functionality has been greatly expanded so that more interaction between players across the globe can occur.

Plus, if they’re adding a WWE superstar as a color commentator, more surprises will likely come before the June 2nd release.
