Studio Gobo Has Joined Guerrilla Games To Aid With Horizon Franchise

January 26, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Horizon development ramps up.

It’s no secret that development studios hire other teams to aid in their development projects. For these massive AAA video games, there are more than a few teams helping along. Some development studios solely focus on their efforts in aiding other productions. One of those studios is Studio Gobo. You might not know them just from their name alone, but this team has worked on several big titles. In the past, they have aided in projects such as Disney Infinity, For Honor, Hogwarts Legacy, and Redfall, to name just a few.

But today, we have a new collaboration in the works with Studio Gobo. Recently, the company has taken to Twitter and alerted its followers that they have partnered up with Guerrilla Games to aid in their Horizon franchise. With Horizon being a hit franchise IP for Sony, it’s not surprising that there is a push to bring more content out for the PlayStation 5. Recently, we wrapped up the second installment of the series with Horizon Forbidden West. Likewise, we know that there is Horizon Call of the Mountain coming alongside the launch of the PlayStation VR2.

📢 We're thrilled to share that Studio Gobo is now a Guerrilla co-development partner on the Horizon universe. We're currently filling roles on this and other teams. See our open positions at: https://t.co/4YBMhs8qJq pic.twitter.com/1xwZZKWtr5

Outside of that, there’s been a push to bring out an online component of the game franchise. This could be the project Studio Gobo is aiding in. But we wouldn’t be surprised to see another installment for the franchise that’s set up as a single-player experience. Regardless, while we wait for more details to come out for this franchise, we at least know Guerrilla Games is getting some additional help. Studio Gobo only stated that they are working with the franchise to co-develop with Guerrilla Games.

In fact, the studio is starting to hire more staff to ensure that they can further flesh out a team dedicated to the Horizon franchise. With that said, the studio is also getting ready to celebrate as two of its projects will soon be hitting the marketplace. As mentioned, the development team has aided in the creation of Hogwarts Legacy, which is slated to launch on February 10, 2023. Meanwhile, we know that Redfall will finally hit the marketplace on May 2, 2023. Again, with the studio just now joining in with Guerrilla Games, they likely didn’t have a hand with the Horizon Call of the Mountain title, as this game is already set to release on February 22, 2023.
