Apex Legends Teases New Spellbound Collection Event

January 5, 2023 by Alexandra Nicholson

Time to enchant the opposition.

Apex Legends is gearing up for a new event as part of its current Eclipse season. The upcoming Spellbound Collection event will get underway next week and will give players the opportunity to try out a range of new daily challenges as well as bag themselves a wide variety of unique cosmetics. The event gets started next Tuesday, January 10 and will run for two weeks, finishing up on January 24.

A fan-favourite game mode will also be making its return to the Apex Games. Control will be heading back into the action as a time-limited mode for the Spellbound Collection Event’s duration. This will see players being dropped into 9 vs 9 battle action, with players needing to team up in order to capture different control points on the map. Control mode also enables infinite respawns, meaning the battle goes on uninterrupted until a winner is declared. Players can take part in Control mode at the following locations: Storm Point: Barometer, World’s Edge: Lava Siphon and Olympus: Hammond Labs.

A new trailer detailing everything that players can expect to see coming up in the game also just dropped, which you can check out right here if you’re in the mood to jump back into Apex Legends for some hero shooter action next week.

Alongside the return of Control, players will also be able to get their hands on some exclusive time-limited cosmetic items during the event. These include new Legendary skins for Vantage, Seer, Mad Maggie, Mirage, and other Legends. There are 24 cosmetic items available in total during the Spellbound Collection Event.

For players who manage to unlock all of these cosmetics before the event finishes, there’ll be a special reward in the form of a brand new Heirloom called the ” Showstoppers” for Seer. Players will be able to purchase the special cosmetics directly throughout the event, either using Apex Coins or Crafting Metals. They can also be obtained via Spellbound Event Apex Packs.

The event also comes with its own handy reward tracker, meaning that players will be able to keep tabs on their efforts throughout the coming fortnight. Players will be able to earn up to 1,600 points per day, with the event’s challenges set to refresh daily.

In addition, the Spellbound Collection Event will bring in some updates and fixes with a small incoming patch. You can check those out in full, alongside a list of upcoming bug fixes for the game over on the official Apex Legends website.

Apex Legends is available free to play now on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
