I thought the worst thing my mother could possibly do to get me to stop playing them vidya games was to turn them off without letting me save. As it turns out, being threatened with a butcher’s knife is definitely up there.
Jutrina Tillman of Phoenix, Arizona, allegedly became enraged with her five year old son for playing video games he got for Christmas. She then allegedly dragged him into the bedroom and began strangling him, before threatening to kill him and his 13 year old sister with a butcher knife.
Officers say that they received a frantic 911 call from the boy’s sister, claiming that Tillman was trying to kill them over a video game. Tillman, who had reportedly been drinking all day, was overcome by rage due to her son playing video games. She then allegedly dragged him by the arm into his bedroom. On hearing screaming, Tillman’s daughter entered the room to see Tillman strangling the five year old.
Tillman stopped attacking her son, only to return soon after with a butcher knife, brandishing it towards both children and threatening to kill them. When her daughter broke free, she ran outside, where she made the call to 911. Tillman grabbed the boy and dragged him back inside, choking him with her arm.
Luckily, the police arrived in time to save the children from any serious harm. Tillman attempted to escape and enter a neighbour’s house, but was taken into custody.
The children are safe and sound with relatives, while Tillman is facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is in police custody.
