Australia and Europe Aren’t Getting 32GB Vita Cards on Launch

December 23, 2011 by Elizabeth DeLoria

If you’re an Australian or European gamer, I’ve got some bad news. Looks like that 32GB Vita card won’t be bundled with the Vita, or available at all.

If you’re an Australian or European gamer, I’ve got some bad news. Looks like that 32GB Vita card won’t be bundled with the Vita, or available at all.

The holy grail of Vita cards, which have sold out in Japan and have been confirmed for the American console bundles, won’t be available for launch in Australia and Europe. This was confirmed by a Sony representative on the PlayStation blog, saying “at this time we are not planning to launch with the 32GB PS Vita Memory Card."

Well, while that’s a complete and utter bummer in every sense of the term, the 16GB cards will still be available in Europe and Australia. Given the sudden rarity of the 32GB cards, it looks like we’ll have to make do, as well.

If you’re that desperate for the extra space, you can just buy a second 16GB card. That will, however, set you back $64.95 AUD, so you should probably really make sure you actually need it.
