We've been watching Twitter once again, this time the account belonging to DICE's Daniel Matros, Global Battlefield community manager. To begin with, you may or may not have heard about the Easter egg shown in the picture above. Printed on a wall is a reference to an as yet unannounced game/DLC pack based upon the classic Battlefield 2142.
Of course, rumours are spreading as to what it could mean: perhaps it's just a joke on behalf of the devs; perhaps they really are creating a standalone download-only game not unlike Battlefield 1943 or perhaps it'll be DLC. The only thing that's certain at this point is that Matros isn't talking on the subject, "I will let the rumors linger a bit before making a statement. It amuses me"
He has also responded to questions about expanding the usefulness of platoons. After announcing that there are now 400,000 platoons registered on the Battlelog, Matros was asked about whether or not DICE were considering extending the feature set available to platoons, he replied "there are plans to integrate platoons more"
At least he didn't waste any characters…
