In addition to the new trailer above, Kotaku had a chance to sit down and chat with Oskari Hakkinen, head of franchise development for Alan Wake's American Nightmare. In the discussion, more plot details were revealed.
"Scratch is darkness shaped in Wake's image," Hakkinen said. "He's an urban legend come real. A bogey man. If you repeat his name too many times you invoke him. He's a supernatural serial killer on his way to do horrible things to Wake's wife. Wake is trying to stop him."
For those wondering if this will be the last time we will see Alan Wake, Remedy CEO Matias Myllyrinne, reassured that this won't be the case.
"We are certainly not done with Wake's story or fiction," said Myllyrinne. "For this we wanted to have something that anyone can step into and enjoy and still take the fiction forward. This is a perfect season special."
It was also revealed that this iteration of Alan Wake will focus more on action, rather than story.
American Nightmare is expected to hit XBLA early next year, so stock up on your batteries and buy a new flash light: Darkness is coming!
