It’s finally happened, everyone. Get ready to quit your job, kiss your partner goodbye and spend the rest of your days inside, as Skyrim is on its way to getting multiplayer.
Modder AwpSoLeet has released the alpha of Skyrim Online, a mod which will hopefully one day allow players to play Skyrim as somewhat of an MMO.
Obviously, being in alpha, the mod is extremely rough, even bordering on a little bit creepy. Other players in the world will appear as default male prisoner avatars, and no animations for other players have been included as of yet – which means no one else walks, they just kind of glide like part of a Ouija board or something.
You can, however, chat with other players and even have a friends list. The mod also introduces an arena mode, which allows you to fight waves of creepers.
You can download the mod from it’s Nexus page, or just check out it’s official website. Be warned though, the mod will require you to re-write over the game’s config file, for make sure to read through the instructions, back up your saves and make sure you know exactly what you’re doing.
