PlayStation Tournaments For PlayStation 5 Officially Launches Today

If you’ve been looking for some competitive tournaments to partake in for the PlayStation 5, you’re in luck. Sony has officially kicked off the Tournaments feature for the console today. These official tournaments happen periodically, and some could bring in thrilling prizes. There’s even a new tournament going on for this upcoming year which might bring in anything from PlayStation 5 accessories to consoles if you’re on the PlayStation 4. Here’s what Sony has unveiled so far.

Using their official PlayStation Blog website, Sony unveiled the new tournaments going on. It’s being dubbed the PlayStation Tournaments Win-A-Thon. Here players will have to win various games to rack up their points on the leaderboard. Fortunately, this is a tournament that will be running on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. You can find the complete set of rules and leaderboards for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation platforms here. But overall, depending on your rank within the different video games being offered, you can land physical items, prizes, or money.

The three specific games being offered for the PlayStation Tournaments Win-A-Thon are FIFA 23, NBA 2K23, and Guilty Gear -Strive-. These are for specific prizes, but there are other games featured that can help you rank up on the leaderboard for other rewards, such as a PlayStation 5 console if you’re participating on a PlayStation 4 unit. 

FIFA 23 Leaderboard Prizes

  • 1-12 DualSense Edge Wireless Controller
  • 13-24 Pulse 3D Headset
  • 25-100 $50
  • 101-250 $20

NBA 2K23 Leaderboard Prizes

  • 1-16 DualSense Edge Wireless Controller
  • 17-32 Pulse 3D Headset
  • 33-100 $50
  • 101-250 $20

Guilty Gear -Strive- Leaderboard Prizes

  • 1-8 DualSense Edge Wireless Controller 
  • 9-16 Pulse 3D Headset

With that said, other video games, as mentioned, will rank up wins on the leaderboard. This particular leaderboard will give players with winning positions anywhere from a brand new PlayStation 5 console to even $500. The competition will go on until the end of January 2023 if you want to participate.

Meanwhile, those on the PlayStation 5 have a new discovery process to see which games are currently available in a tournament. To view these tournaments, you’ll need to scroll to the relevant game on your PlayStation 5 home screen, then press the down directional button to see if a tournament is available or one is upcoming.
