Chrono Trigger Now Available on the App Store

December 8, 2011 by Josh Harmon

For $9.99, you can relive one of the greatest RPGs ever made on the go.

You can finally tell everyone that your iPhone is a time machine, as SNES classic Chrono Trigger has made its way to the App Store today.

Originally released in 1995, Chrono Trigger is widely regarded as one of the greatest RPGs ever made, and handily the best thing Square has ever done without the words "final" and "fantasy" in the title. The game broke some serious ground for the genre, with its multiple endings, time travel mechanics, and the very first New Game+ mode in history.

The iOS version of Chrono Trigger carries a $9.99 price tag and is compatible with any device running iOS 3.0 or later. That means iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads of all models will work, although iPad users will have to run an upscaled version of the game, as this isn't a universal app.

If you've somehow managed to miss out on Chrono Trigger for this long, this rerelease is definitely worth a look.
