CD Projekt Red Highlights How To Mod Animations In Cyberpunk 2077

November 9, 2022 by Dennis Patrick

Create your own experiences.

CD Projekt Red might have stumbled quite a bit with the launch of their latest title, Cyberpunk 2077. Easily one of the more hyped-up and anticipated game releases was met with a slew of upset players. It took a very long time for the development team to get the game cleaned up from bugs and other technical issues. However, what you might find of interest is the fact that CD Projekt Red provides players with the tools to mod the game. While it doesn’t look like Cyberpunk 2077 will have the lengthy support and DLC that the studio likely intended, new thrilling content will come out.

It looks like Cyberpunk 2077’s future might be held in the hands of players like yourself. We know that a single expansion is coming, which will give players official content to enjoy. But, after that DLC hits the marketplace, you might be left waiting on other fans to craft up unique experiences. CD Projekt Red has released REDmod, a tool that provides everything users need to start crafting their own content for the game. In the future, you may see new storylines, characters, items, and locations brought out.

Take your first steps in Cyberpunk 2077 modding with Ákos, one of the REDmod developers!

Sky’s the limit for Cyberpunk 2077’s future. But, it could take time to understand how everything works with this new set of tools. While it’s free for players to download and tinker with, CD Projekt Red offers a few guidelines to make the creation process more seamless. A video series called REDmod Tutorials provides more insight into the tools and mechanics of REDmod. The latest video has just been uploaded today, which is a look into animation.

With episode 3 of REDmod Tutorials, you’ll get a look into how animation works, replacing in-game animations, and even some actions, such as simply sitting a character down to running. The entire video is over twenty minutes long and should clear up some questions modders might have been having in this area. Then, of course, you can go back and view the other video tutorials for REDmod on the official support page. This also includes the download files required to get modding Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available to pick up and play for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Meanwhile, the upcoming expansion, Phantom Liberty, is set to launch exclusively for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms sometime in 2023.
