Smite Is Coming To PS4 After A Beta Next Month

February 19, 2016 by Stephen Daly

A closed beta is scheduled to take place next month.

Smite, the mythology-inspired MOBA from Hi-Rez Studios’ will soon be released on PlayStation 4.

The free-to-play game was initially released on PC three years ago before being released on Xbox One last year. Over 14 million players are members of the game’s community worldwide.

There are 70 playable mythological creatures and deities available from eight ancient pantheons who can compete in any of the game’s six modes.

A closed beta for the game will be held in March which will see a range of new skins added for the gods, each of these skins is exclusive to PlayStation while additional exclusive skins will be sold as part of a Founder’s Pack during the beta and as bonuses for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

The Founders Pack includes a key for instant beta access, all of the current and future gods in Smite, 400 Gems, and the Ares Soldier of Fortune skin. It will cost $29.99/€23.99/£20.99.

During the trial players will have access to all of the game’s modes as well as five free gods (Ymir, Thor, Neith, Guan Yu, and Ra) and any of the other deities in free rotation. Additional gods can be unlocked with Favour, Gems, or special community events.

You can sign up to receive a free beta code if you’re not inclined towards paying for the Founders Pack on the game’s website. Smite’s beta will take place in March but exact dates have not yet been announced. Hi-Rez Studios has also not yet confirmed the final game’s launch date. A closed alpha trial has begun on PS4 today.
