Best Buy Is Cancelling Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition Preorders

Nintendo fans are not happy with Best Buy at the moment, and for good reason. There seems to be evidence that Best Buy is cancelling pre-orders for Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition.

Fire Emblem Fates is actually three games, each based on a different outcome when you make a decision in the story. Choosing Hoshido or Nohr will pull you into one of the two games, and a third game will be available in the future only via digital download. However, the special limited edition has all three versions of Fire Emblem Fates in one cartridge, making it a highly sought after item. Best Buy was one of the few retailers who had early stock for this special edition.

Today, however, many fans were in for a rude awakening, as they received emails from Best Buy informing them that their pre-orders were delayed to March 14. Some of these customers used Paypal for their pre-orders, which means Best Buy already received their payment for the item. Others were members of Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked, which meant they were supposed to get a discount for it as well. Some also pointed out that when retailers like Best Buy delay items, they can also cancel these orders later.

As you can see above, many fans are taking to online to complain about their pre-orders getting delayed or canceled. But, that’s not even the worst part.

Some fans found Best Buy selling copies of the same special edition on eBay. The listing is canceled now, but as you can see in the screenshot below, they were able to sell 888 copies to the tune of $ 79.99 each.
