Capcom has officially announced Super Street Fighter IV , revealing it to be a standalone title.
This month, Capcom began hinting at a follow up to Street Fighter IV. Leading up to its official announcement, teasers and leaked images pointed to a Super Street Fighter IV, featuring T. Hawk and Dee Jay, the two fighters from Super Street Fighter II who were not included in Street Fighter IV, and were long expected to be added as downloadable content. According to developer Yoshinori Ono, this is because the changes, which comprises of eight additional character, improved character tweaks based on community feedback, and an improved online mode, were too extensive to release as DLC. As a compromise, the game will be released at a smaller price point, and there will be as-of-yet unrevealed features for people who already own Street Fighter IV.
French site JV247 showed off eight screenshots in all, showcasing both a new fighter named Juri and the return of classic character T. Hawk. Other rumored characters to be brought to this update include Adon, Cody, Dee Jay, Dudley, Guy, Ibuki, and Makoto.
A teaser trailer has also been released, along with the announcement.
