L.A. Noire’s Frame Rate Restriction Unlocked

November 30, 2011 by Lyle Smith

For those of you who own the PC version.

The modding community is at it again, this time tweaking Rockstar's L.A. Noire. PC gamers will now be able to 'unlock' the frame rate, which was previously restricted to 30fps. This will most likely make the game's already incredible facial expressions seem even more hyper-realistic.

Rage3D’s user ‘jackfuste’, the man behind this handy mod, was also responsible for unlocking the PC versions of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1 and 2.

In addition, the executable patch also removes the black bars on 4:3, 5:4 and 16:10 resolutions making the PC iteration of L.A. Noire superior to its PS3 and 360 counterparts (as long as you have the rig to capitalize on these perks).

You can download the patch here, though you should make sure that you have the lastest version of the game before you run it.
