Cruel, cruel Rockstar. They announce Grand Theft Auto V with no release date, drop a trailer in our lap, then go radio silent and force us to drool over those same 90 seconds of footage over and over again until they let the next morsel slip out. Of course, all that ennui leads to some awesome creativity, like this painstaking recreattion of GTA V's debut trailer in Liberty City.
While the trailer is a cool enough feat by itself, it also provides a remarkable look into just how much the graphics have improved in GTA V. Grand Theft Auto IV wasn't a slouch in the visuals department by any means, but this side-by-side footage makes it glaringly apparent just how much the character models, animations, and textures have improved in Rockstar's latest effort.
Perhaps the most noticeable difference is that GTA V's colors are drawn from a richer palette than it's predecessor. Looks like we might finally be escaping that brown and gray next-gen haze once and for all.
