Five Nights at Freddy’s World has been re-released, with the game being available for free this time round.
The RPG spin-off of Scott Cawthon’s remarkably popular horror series was roundly criticised upon its original release, as many felt it was underdeveloped with a range of issues, both small and larger affecting overall performance and player satisfaction.
Cawthon accepted most of the criticism was fair and ultimately removed the game from sale while offering refunds to everyone who had bought it. When he decided to pull the title, Cawthon commented, “I’m still going to work on Five Nights at Freddy’s World and polish it up. From this point forward, the game will always be free.”
The developer acted on his promise, and the new and improved version of Five Nights at Freddy’s World is indeed free to download from GameJolt. This version of the game offers a “remodeled overworld” and “many other new features”. Additional content updates are promised for the future.
You have a choice of 40 playable characters in the RPG and there are numerous ending as well as multiple difficulty levels. Playing as Freddy and the gang, you venture into the “world beneath worlds” to discover the source of monsters and glitches in the “flipside”. The ultimate goal of all of this is to return this world to its true purpose as a safe haven.
The game was announced last September and was originally supposed to launch on February 19th before coming to iOS and Android devices. When it was released on January 21st Cawthon admitted it came too early.
