Blizzard Entertainment has announced the release date for its highly anticipated Real-Time Strategy game, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. The first installment of the three part series, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, will release July 27, 2010 on the PC and Mac.
You can Pre-Order the Standard Edition for $59.99 or the Limited Edition for $99.99 from Amazon to receive an access code to the ongoing StarCraft II beta.
StarCraft II continues the epic saga of the Protoss, Terran, and Zerg. These three distinct and powerful races will clash once again in the fast-paced real-time strategy sequel to the legendary original, StarCraft. It is the first new stand-alone game from Blizzard Entertainment since 2004’s World of Warcraft, which has dominated the subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing market.
The Limited Edition packs the following goodies:
+ The Art of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, a 176-page book featuring artwork from the game
+ An exclusive 2GB USB flash drive replica of Jim Raynor’s dog tag, which comes preloaded with the original StarCraft and the StarCraft: Brood War® expansion set
