Lose the 2nd CD of Chrono Cross in university or sell your original copy of Final Fantasy VI 15 years ago on Ebay like I did? Fear not, because those classic Square Enix titles–in addition to Final Fantasy V–are set to be released on the PlayStation Network this Winter.
Appropriately named 'The Winter of RPGs', Square Enix will begin with Chrono Cross on November 8th, the sequel to arguably one of best RPGs of all time, Chrono Trigger. It will be the first time Chrono Chross has been re-released other than when it made the 'Greatest Hits' line up. This will be followed by Final Fantasy V on November 20th, and then it will finish this classics campaign with Final Fantasy VI (released as Final Fantasy III in North America) on December 6th, both of which were featured on Final Fantasy Anthology in 2004 for the original PlayStation.
I have not played Chrono Cross since my first year of university, so I am very tempted to pick it up–digitally. I have played Final Fantasy VI over the years since it has been re-released before, but it's so tempting to have that incredibly fun game on the PS3. Will you be downloading any of those classic RPGs on the PSN?
