Planning to get Final Fantasy XIII-2 next year? This rather marvellous image will be on the front cover when you pick it up. It's not a million miles away from the front cover on Final Fantasy XIII, but that's fine, it was pretty cool.
It's hard to see what effect this could have on sales. Somebody who has picked up Final Fantasy XIII might be put off by how similar it looks. an idea that Square Enix have tried to counter every step of Final Fantasy XIII-2s existance.
Of course, the fairly neutral boxart doesn't give away the fact that Final Fantasy XIII-2 contains Chocobo racing, time warps and legalized gambling. I'd have based the box art around all that alone, so perhaps it's lucky I don't work for Square Enix.
