Deliver Us Mars Delayed until 2023

August 15, 2022 by Sam Arthurs

The game will now be released in February 2023.

Bad news for the fans who have been eagerly awaiting the new space adventure Deliver Us Mars. The game’s official Twitter page has announced that the new release date will be February 2, 2023. Since the original release date wasn’t far from now, September 27, 2022, there are sure to be a few disappointed fans out there. However, the developers acknowledged this in their post, and it’s worth considering the good aspects of this decision as well.

Deliver Us Mars stars young astronaut Kathy Johanson, humanity on Earth’s last chance at survival, as she embarks on a dangerous mission for professional and personal reasons. Life on Earth has become drastically different with climate change doing its damage. It is up to Kathy to recover the ARKs, a series of lost colonizing vessels that will aid in mankind’s survival. The ships were stolen by a group called Outward sometime before, but a distress call from Mars has prompted Johanson and her crew to search the red planet next. However, Kathy also has reason to believe that her father was one of the thieves ten years prior, and now she is on a mission to save the world and find him.

The game is set to be a high-stakes adventure game with a deeply emotional narrative. According to the Deliver Us Mars Steam page, it has every moment “handcrafted” to be filled with suspense and emotion while the gameplay is physically and mentally challenging for Kathy. She will have to move through harsh terrain and work through both physical and mental challenges. Meanwhile, she will also be solving the mystery of who sent out the distress call and why.

With so much promise packed into this premise, it’s understandable that KeokeN Interactive wants to make sure they have all of their ducks in a row before release. In their announcement Tweet, they explain that they want Deliver Us Mars to be a deeply emotional and suspense-filled game from the launch date, choosing to be ready straight out of the gate rather than banking on updates and patches. You can find the original Tweet below.

Personally, the ambition to create a game that lives up to their vision is respectable if you appreciate the craftsmanship of creating a top-notch video game. If they are willing to delay by months in order to get this game perfect, then that’s actually some good news, right? They care about the final product and the gamers’ experiences. The team also mentioned that they would have a brand-new trailer to show us all at the Future Games Show at Gamescom on August 24, 2022, so there will be at least a little bit more about the game this year.
