inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood Launch Trailer Shows Its Fangs

October 26, 2011 by Josh Harmon

New Marais is getting a whole lot suckier with a new vampire-themed standalone DLC.

There's no question that zombies have pretty much cornered the market for being undead in video games. We've got cowboys, photojournalists, and even plants getting in on the zombie killing action, but no one seems to care a smidgen about vampires anymore. They're downright passé.

As you can see from the launch trailer, inFAMOUS 2's new standalone DLC, Festival of Blood, is looking to bring bloodsuckers back into the spotlight. Set over the course of a single night, Festival of Blood sees the super-powered Cole MacGrath attempting to defeat a brood of vampires led by Bloody Mary.

The stakes are fairly high, as Cole's been bitten himself and needs a way to cure himself before he finds himself permanently undead. His affliction brings its own set of powers, including the much requested ability to fly. Of course, those new abilities come with a hefty price tag, as you'll need to drink the blood of New Marais revellers to fuel your exploits. Can't save everyone, right?

You won't need to own the full game to play Festival of Blood, a nice touch given the big chunk of the city it lets you explore. The DLC is also completely playable with the Move motion controller, a feature that will be making its way into the full game in the near future. Festival of Blood is currently available for purchase on the PSN with a $9.99 price tag, though that's cut to $7.99 if you're a member of PlayStation Plus.
