The CW-verse is going through a massive change right now, and it’s one that fans…aren’t honestly excited for given all that’s happening. You might have heard recently that The Flash is going to have a shortened 9th season that’ll be the true ending for the show, and that puts a capper on all the truly connected Arrowverse shows, bringing an end to an era. And while there is still Superman & Lois (albeit a version from a different Earth apparently…), it’s just not the same. Plus, the Gotham Knights TV show is already being widely panned by all who have viewed the new trailer. And as for the upcoming fall season, all that fans have DC Comics-wise is Stargirl Season 3.
Not that this is a bad thing, but it is a curious thing to be sure, as this was never meant to be a “headliner” series, and has acted as a kind of “buffer between the breaks” show over the first two seasons of its life and has done well in that role.
Season 3 is coming on August 31st, and as a result of that, a new poster has arrived. In it, we see Stargirl in a basement with TVs pointed at her friends, her family, and some of her enemies. Recall that at the end of Season 2, Stargirl and her allies had to team up with various villains in order to defeat Eclipso, and as a result, many of them are trying to “turn over a new leaf”. Whether that actually works is up for debate, and clearly a certain someone in Starman isn’t happy about that at all.
Plus, there’s apparently going to be a “murder mystery” going on, and thus the question is, are some of these bad guys…still bad guys? We’ll find out when the new season begins.
