Doom 4 Delayed After Poor RAGE Review Scores?

October 21, 2011 by Mat Growcott

The long awaited Doom 4 may have been delayed indefinitely after "a serious lack of confidence in the project management at id".

After less than perfect reviews for shooter RAGE, id have been said to be taking another look at Doom 4, a look that has indefinitely delayed their next big game. This is according to Kotaku, who have been tipped off that a company wide meeting took place at which Bethesda (and Zenimax) felt issues surrounding RAGE's launch needed to be resolved, in paticular thanks to "a serious lack of confidence in the project management at id". Those are Bethesda's words, apparently

It's an interesting state of affairs to say the least. A game that we hardly know exists may have been pushed back because of scores around the 8/10 mark and because of graphical imperfections at launch.

As always, take this news with a pinch of salt – it is by no means confirmed and, even if it was, with no in-stone release date for Doom 4 either way, how can Joe Public even know it was delayed in the first place?
