Firaxis and 2K Games have released a hardcover artbook for XCOM 2, their upcoming turn-based strategy game for the PC, ahead of its February release.
The game builds upon the entire XCOM universe by taking place in a world where the original XCOM organization failed to defeat the alien invaders, who since conquered the earth and have subjugated the human survivors. The last remnants of XCOM fight a guerilla war against the aliens by employing technology salvaged in missions and new research efforts.
The studio released some images from the book, which depict the game's new alien enemies in concept art form, showcasing the work Firaxis has put into the game.
