The Darkness II: Black Holes, Gun Channeling and Some Darkling Action

October 11, 2011 by Ian Miles Cheong

Three new videos of The Darkness II show off a couple of the game’s powers and some action from the unforgettable Darkling.

The Darkness may well be one of the most underrated games of the past decade. Being both creepy and well written at the same time (as opposed to just being creepy with inane dialog that makes you want to take an ice pick to your head), it's a blessing that 2K Games has agreed to commission Digital Extremes to develop a sequel.

Today, the publisher released three new videos of The Darkness II. The first one is titled "Gun Channeling"—a certain power of darkness usable by the player. It allows you to channel The Darkness through your weapons and blast your enemies to kingdom come.

The second video, "Black Hole," shows off a power that sends your enemies hurtling into oblivion.

Finally, "Darkling" contains footage of the power, which summons an evil, childlike familiar to do your cruel bidding. The Darkling aids you in battle and supports you throughout the game.

The Darkness II is set for a February 7, 2012 release on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
