Mark Hamill Says Working On Star Citizen Makes Him Feel Like a Kid Again

January 4, 2016 by Ian Miles Cheong

Mark Hamill had a lot of positive things to say about working on the upcoming space sim.

Mark Hamill needs no introduction. The veteran actor will be slated to play a major role in Chris Roberts' upcoming space-sim Star Citizen. Hamill had previously worked with Roberts on the Wing Commander titles back in the '90s as its protagonist.

Speaking to PC Gamer, Hamill said that he didn't even ask to see the script when Roberts asked if he would like to be a part of the new game.

"When [Roberts] asked, I didn't need to see the script," Hamill said. "I said, 'Count me in!' Of course my agent said, 'You didn't tell him that, did you? Play hard to get for God's sake!'"

Hamill said that working with motion capture for Squadron-42, the game's single-player campaign module, was interesting for him.

"It's like being a child again, playing Robin Hood in your backyard. It's all pretending."

Hamill will be playing the role of Lt. Commander Steve "Old Man" Colton in the upcoming game, taking on a mentor role to teach the player the ropes.

Other actors involved in the game include Gary Oldman, Andy Serkis and Gillian Anderson.
